People who keep the tea forest

Old trees do not pack themselves. Hmong, Dao and Tày people pick, fire and keep the gardens. A brand is a later layer.

Many old Shan trees stand on land kept by ethnic minority communities. They know which trees to pick this season, which to rest. That knowledge is not in a brochure.

Shan Mộc works garden by garden, household by household, paying for the lot’s quality, not for bulk weight. We are not yet in a position to tell their full story. This page will be rewritten when the record is right — names, villages, particular seasons.
